For Three years my gallery was located across the street from the CPR station.  For the most part, this provided occasional noise pollution and need for frequent dusting.  I never expected it to ever provide inspiration for a painting.  But one day I looked out the window and saw something one does not often see; a clean train.

Canadian Pacific was a major sponsor for the Vancouver Olympics and to commemorate they painted three locomotives with the Olympic Games logo, and this one was parked where I couldn't help but notice it.

For years I'd believed that my inspiration to paint came from a desire to express personality and attitude therefore only living creatures were treasonable subjects.  But there was something about this bright and shiny engine that expressed the pride and attitude of  CPR and their involvement with the Olympics.  Painting it was educational for me, as I learned that there are many ways to express persona;ity and attitude.
